Instructions say to use a 12V 35AH lithium lifeP04 battery. The guy at SCP said most people just buy a marine battery from Autozone. Walked in there with the specs listed on the instruction manual and two of the guys had no idea. Some other guy pointed me towards a lithium battery that didnt match the specs and said it should work, but I don’t feel like taking a gamble. I know there is a recommendation in the manual, but I am trying to get the vac up and running today without having to wait for a battery in the mail.

  • “So I would say it depends on how many pools your doing per day. I have a 100 ah lifep04 battery on my riptide and it barely lasts 12 pools. Switching next season to a 300 ah solid state marine battery solid state marine battery”

  • “I use a 12v 125ah lithium for my riptide and it handles 50 pools easily on 1 charge”

  • “It's been several years, but I could get 20-25 pools out of one charge on an Optima deep cycle AGM marine battery. AGM is maintenance free and handles bumps and jostling better than liquid filled You can find them for $200-300.”

  • “12v 35ah from harbor freight. Never use an automotive battery, it is not designed for constant discharge and recharge”
