LG Electronics has unveiled an integrated V2X-V2N safety platform at the 2026 ITS World Congress, aligned with Euro NCAP cooperative safety scenarios. The platform combines direct vehicle communications with cloud-based network connectivity, aiming to move road safety beyond systems that rely mainly on sensors inside individual vehicles. LG demonstrated the system in live on-road trials near the congress venue using a vehicle equipped with its telematics hardware, V2X-enabled devices and a pedestrian mobile application. The trials showed how connected safety tools can identify risks at obstructed intersections, detect approaching pedestrians and cyclists, and warn of hazards outside a driver's line of sight. LG calls the underlying system Soft V2X, an integrated platform that links vehicles, networks and infrastructure in real time. It combines direct vehicle-to-everything communications with cloud-based vehicle-to-network connectivity. According to LG, the platform includes end-to-end message security, predictive quality-of-service-based orchestration of V2X and V2N communications, and a V2N server built on standards from the 5G Automotive Association and ITS Korea. The aim is to improve the reliability of safety-related messages and maintain service continuity.
