Understanding Action Processing Modes

AI Studio offers different modes for processing actions and exports within your campaigns, providing flexibility between full automation and manual oversight. The two primary modes are Auto-Pilot (fully automated) and Manual Review (Co-Pilot), which requires user approval for certain steps. These modes are set at the column level for on action and export columns, allowing for granular control over your campaign's workflow.

Auto-Pilot Mode: Automated Actions and Exports

In Auto-Pilot Mode, once actions are configured and auto-run is enabled, the system automatically processes and runs action or export cells without requiring direct manual intervention.

  • Automated Execution: Actions, such as insight generation, content creation, or exports, automatically re-run if auto-run is enabled for those steps.

  • Consecutive Processing: Actions typically execute consecutively based on the order of columns in your Prospects tab, unless overridden manually.

  • Seamless Flow: For fully automated sequences or single exports, content can be generated and sent without a mandatory review step, streamlining the workflow.

Manual Review (Co-Pilot) Mode: Approval Required

Co-Pilot Mode is designed for scenarios where you want to review and approve generated content or planned exports before they are sent. This mode provides granular control and ensures that every piece of outbound communication meets your standards.

  • Manual Approval Step: When content has been generated and queued for export, users must review and approve the content before sending (by manually clicking run)

  • "Review + Send" State: This applies to Co-Pilot Mode, where a manual review is required before auto-export. The cell state will display "Review + Send".

  • User Interaction: Users can click into the cell to preview, edit, and approve the content. Upon approval, the content is then queued for export.

  • Manual Triggers: Some steps might also display a "Click to Run" button, requiring manual interaction to start the action. This allows granular control when auto-run is off or when users prefer manual processing for specific steps.

Key Differences and When to Use Each

The fundamental difference lies in the level of human intervention:

  • Auto-Pilot: Actions proceed automatically from one step to the next, ideal for high-volume, standardized outreach where immediate execution is prioritized.

  • Manual Review (Co-Pilot): Requires explicit user approval for generated content or exports, best suited for highly personalized campaigns, sensitive communications, or when quality assurance is paramount before sending.

When an action cell has already been completed, hovering over it displays a "Run Again" button, allowing users to reprocess the action manually, even if downstream exports are set to auto-pilot.
