Getting Started

What is AI Studio?

AI Studio is Autobound's workspace for creating, personalizing, and automating outreach campaigns. You can import prospects, generate personalized emails and scripts using 350+ insight types, and export content to tools like Outreach, HubSpot, Salesforce, Instantly, and more. How do I create a campaign?

In AI Studio, click "Create Campaign" from the main dashboard. Give it a name, then add prospects via import (HubSpot, Salesforce, CSV, Google Sheets, or API). From there, add content steps and insight steps to generate personalized outreach. Full guide here.

How do I get an API key?

Go to Settings > API in Autobound, or visit signalapi.autobound.ai for the Signal API portal. Your API key works across all Autobound API endpoints. More on authentication.

Imports

What import sources does Autobound support?

Autobound supports importing from HubSpot lists, Salesforce reports/campaigns, Google Sheets, CSV files, and API. Import overview.

My import is not pulling in all fields. What should I do?

After importing, open the Source panel by clicking the source icon on any row. You can map additional metadata fields to new or existing columns at any time, even after the initial import. Mapping data guide.

Can I import prospects via API?

Yes. Set up an API import in your campaign, then POST contact data to your campaign's unique endpoint. Each campaign has its own URL and campaign ID. API import guide.

Content Generation

How does Autobound generate personalized content?

Autobound first retrieves relevant insights (buying signals) for each prospect, then uses AI to generate emails, call scripts, or LinkedIn messages that reference those insights. You control which insight types are enabled and can customize the writing style through the Content Hub. Content steps guide.

How do I customize the writing style?

Go to Content Hub > Writing Styles to create or edit writing styles. You can control tone, length, structure, and more. These styles are then selected in your campaign's content step configuration. Writing Styles guide.

What are insights and how many types are there?

Insights are buying signals that Autobound detects across 350+ types, including job changes, funding events, hiring trends, tech stack changes, earnings call mentions, LinkedIn activity, Reddit mentions, and many more. Content is not generating for some rows. Why?

Content generation requires valid prospect data (at minimum, a contact email or LinkedIn URL). Check that required input fields are populated, that the content step has auto-run enabled (or run it manually), and that you have sufficient credits. Rows with missing data will show an error state with a tooltip explaining the issue.

Exports

What export destinations are supported?

Autobound can export to Outreach, HubSpot, Salesforce, Instantly, Gmail/Outlook (direct send), CSV, and custom HTTP APIs. Export overview.

Should I export HTML or plain text content?

Use the HTML version when exporting to tools that support rich formatting (like HubSpot or Outreach sequences). This preserves paragraph breaks and formatting. Use plain text only when the receiving system does not support HTML. HTML vs. Plain Text guide.

Can exports run automatically?

Yes. Enable "Auto-Run" on any export so that new or updated rows are automatically exported without manual intervention. You can also set run conditions to control when auto-run triggers. Export run conditions guide.

Signals

What are signals in AI Studio?

Signals are automated rules that watch for business events (like job changes, funding rounds, or hiring surges) and add matching contacts to your campaign automatically. They keep your campaigns fresh with real-time prospects. Signals guide.

My signal is not adding contacts. What should I check?

Verify that (1) the signal is activated, (2) your filters are not too restrictive, (3) you have credits remaining (signals pause when credits run out), and (4) you are looking at the correct time window, since signals only run forward from activation and do not backfill historical data.

Credits and Pricing

How do credits work?

Most actions in Autobound consume credits. Generating 1 content item costs 2 credits. Generating 1 insight costs 1 credit. Signal-added contacts cost 1 credit each. API operations vary by endpoint. Pricing details.

What do API calls cost?

Signal API operations (search, enrich, webhooks) cost 1 credit per result or record. Intent scoring costs 5 credits per request. Generate Content API costs 2 credits per content item. Metadata and account endpoints are free. Full credit breakdown.

How do I check my remaining credits?

In the Autobound UI, your credit balance is shown in the account settings area. Via the API, use the free GET /v1/credits endpoint. Every API response also includes x-credits-remaining in the response headers.

Integrations

How do I connect HubSpot or Salesforce?

Go to Settings > Integrations in Autobound and follow the OAuth connection flow for your CRM. Once connected, you can import lists/reports and export content and data back to your CRM. Managing Integrations.

Can I generate content on behalf of other sellers?

Yes. Add the "User Email" or "User LinkedIn URL" column to your campaign and populate it with the seller's information. Autobound will generate content as if it is coming from that person. This works even for users not in your Autobound organization. Generating for others guide.

Is there a Chrome Extension?

Yes. The Autobound Chrome Extension lets you generate personalized content while browsing LinkedIn or your CRM. Chrome Extension guide.

Troubleshooting

Rows are stuck in "loading" state

This usually means a dependency step has not completed yet. Check that upstream columns (like lookups or insights) have finished processing. If a row is stuck for more than a few minutes, try re-running the action manually by clicking the cell and selecting "Retry."

Export is failing with errors

Check the error tooltip on the failed row. Common causes include: invalid field mappings, authentication issues with the destination platform, or the contact already existing in the destination. For API exports, verify your endpoint URL, headers, and JSON body format. Autobound retries failed exports up to 3 times automatically. Retry logic guide.

How do I avoid duplicate contacts?

When exporting to HubSpot or Outreach, map the contact email field to ensure Autobound updates existing records rather than creating duplicates. For signals, use the exclusion settings to prevent adding contacts that already exist in other campaigns.

I am getting rate limited on the API

The default API rate limit is 300 requests per minute. If you receive a 429 error, reduce your request frequency or implement exponential backoff. For higher limits, contact sales@autobound.ai.
